KCFAPI commemorates the Passiontide

In observance of the Lenten Season, the Knights of Columbus Fraternal Association of the Philippines held activities that will help them reflect more on the importance and mere essence of the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Participated by the Management and Staff, the “Pabasa” was held last April 5, 2017 at Fr. McGivney Oratory led by Spiritual Committee Chairman Mr. Angelito A. Bala, VP – Actuarial and Business Development. This significant religious activity started at 6:00 in the morning with the traditional recitation of the Holy Rosary and ended around 4:30 in the afternoon with the closing prayer and was actively participated by the various departments of KCFAPI and its wholly-owned or majority-owned companies.

The “Pabasa” or reading of the Passion is an eighteenth century epic poem narrating the life, passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is usually sung uninterruptedly by Catholic devotees and KCFAPI as the insurance arm of the Order of the Knights of Columbus, sacrificed a part of their time in observance of this spiritual activity.

On the other hand, the Stations of the Cross was held last April 10, 2017, Holy Monday at 3:00 in the afternoon. Departments were assigned to lead the prayer for each station delegated to them. Together with the KCFAPI Executive Vice President, Ma. Theresa G. Curia, the management meditated on the Paschal Triduum through the stations of the cross. During the pontificate of St. John Paul II, the traditional stations of the cross was then replaced with the biblical one to emphasize that the passion of the Lord does not end with death, rather with the Resurrection, Christ’s triumph over death.
