Four KC Foundation scholars graduated with honors

FOUR (4) KC FOUNDATION SCHOLARS makes the Foundation proud as they finished their respective courses with Cum Laude honors. They are:

Ms. Apple Joy Alcover is the eldest daughter of Bro. Reynaldo and Sis. Jocelyn Alcover of Knights of Columbus Council 6309 Minglanilla, Cebu. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education major in English at Cebu Normal University (CNU) last March 2017. Apple was an honor student in high school and a member of Educators Club and English Fellow at CNU. Ms. Alcover was a scholar of the Knights of Columbus Philippines Foundation, Inc. under the Supreme Council Scholarship Program from the year 2013 to 2017. In her scholarship essay she wrote “I am not a perfect person but through actions I can prove that the scholarship will not be for nothing”. She is now teaching at the Campbell Academy Foundation, Inc. in Minglanilla, Cebu and is also preparing for the Licensure Examination for Teachers this coming September.

Ms. Robie Dalimocon, the youngest child of Bro. Roberto and Sis. Bebita Dalimocon of Knights of Columbus Council 12595 Cataingan, Masbate. Last March 2017, Robie Mae completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education major in Biological Science also at Cebu Normal University. During elementary and high school she was a consistent honor student and actively participated in her school papers and Speech choir contests while in college she was a representative of their Science organization. In 2013 she was asked what course she will be taking up in college and why, Ms. Dalimocon answered she wants to be a teacher because she wants to help her fellowmen to learn how to read, write, compute and even to speak properly. She wants to be part of many people’s lives and be their bridge to success. Robie Mae was a beneficiary of the Knights of Columbus Philippines Foundation, Inc. under the Supreme Council Scholarship Program from 2013 to 2017. She is currently reviewing for the Licensure Exam for teachers scheduled in September while working as an English Teacher in an ESL Company.

Ms. Kathleen Rose Taniñas is from the Knights of Columbus Council 8328 Taft, Eastern Samar and the third child of Bro. Rodrigo and Sis. Gemma Taniñas. She earned her degree in Accountancy last June 2017 at the University of the Philippines – Tacloban and was a recipient of SGV Academic Excellence Award which was given during her graduation rites. Kathleen was a consistent honor student since Elementary and involved in various organizations like Junior Jaycees, Youth for Christ, and Lector Ministry. Kathleen also joined and won in Beauty Pageants in their region. She was a beneficiary of the Knights of Columbus Philippines Foundation, Inc. under the Supreme Council Scholarship Program from year 2012 to 2017. She is now in Manila reviewing for her CPA Board Exam in October.

Ms. Mia Andrea Soriano is the daughter of Bro. Danilo and Sis. Myrna Soriano of Knights of Columbus Council 8485 Mayapyap, Cabanatuan City. She finished Bachelor of Science in Economics last June 2017 at the University of the Philippines - Diliman. Mia loves to do Math and Science subjects. She actively participated in various activities of UP Economics Society and UP Organization of Novo Ecijanos. Ms. Soriano is set to continue her Masteral Studies in Development Economics in UP Diliman with scholarship from Department of Budget and Management. She was a beneficiary of the Knights of Columbus Philippines Foundation, Inc. under the Supreme Council Scholarship Program from 2013 to 2017.

These ladies are indeed worthy of emulation and praise for making good use of every opportunities presented to them. Congratulations for job well done ladies! We are very proud of your accomplishments. (DSOrtiguerra)
