Columbian Squires to spearhead Youth Leadership Training in Mindoro Oriental

MANILA, January 26, 2010—The Knights of Columbus Columbian Squires will be holding a youth leadership training in Anahaw Island View Resort in Calapan City, Mindoro Oriental February 27, 2010.

This is a response to the call of strengthening the Columbian Squires Circle and promoting an increase in the number of Circles and Squires in the Luzon Jurisdiction.

Jose Cuaresma, State Columbian Squires Chairman, announced that this upcoming leadership training has the objective of training youth leaders to have a working knowledge on Squires Program with special emphasis on the Squires Advancement Program.

He added that this also hopes to motivate the young leaders of today to gain passion in promoting youth awareness and participation in the affairs of the Order and of the Church.

The target participants of this training will be the Columbian Squires youth directors and counselors coming from the Calapan, Mindoro and Batangas regions.

The Columbian Squires, the youth organization of the Knights of Columbus, is one of the most dynamic leadership development organizations for young Catholic men in the world.

The Squires which is an international youth organization has more than 25,000 Catholic young men, ages 10 to 18, in over 1,400 circles worldwide.

Circles exist throughout countries like United States, Canada, Mexico, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Panama, Cuba, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Guam, and on U.S. military bases abroad. (KC News)
