KC Foundation scholar graduated with honors

MANILA, May 13, 2011—Ms. Sonia Richelle B. Magdaraog, a scholar of KC Philippines Foundation Inc. (KCPFI), recently graduated Cum Laude with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Catanduanes State Colleges, in Virac, Catanduanes.

She is one of the sixteen KCPFI scholars who graduated last March/April 2011 from various colleges/universities around the country.

Ms. Magdaraog is the daughter of Bro. Rey and Sis. Evelyn Magdaraog of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 4266 in Virac, Catanduanes.  read more »

K of C Foundation Inc. spearheads backyard farming

MANILA, April 11, 2011—The Knights of Columbus Philippines Foundation, Inc. (KCPFI), a corporate social responsibility arm of KC Fraternal Association of the Philippines, Inc. (KCFAPI), spearheaded a livelihood project on “Backyard Farming focused on Organic Vegetable Production”.

The incipient project started with a hands-on seminar on containerized vegetable gardening otherwise called urban gardening given by the Bureau of Plants and Industry at the KC Fr. George J. Willmann Center in Intramuros, Manila last April 5, 2011.  read more »

Willmann Charities donates to nationwide seminarians’ gathering

MANILA, January 31, 2011—The Knights of Columbus Fr. George J. Willmann Charities, Inc. recently donated ten thousand pesos (P10,000.00) to the SemNet Kapatiran, an annual gathering of the diocesan Seminarian’s Network of the Philippines, Inc. (SemNet Phils.) scheduled this February 5, 2011 at San Jose Seminary and Ateneo de Manila High School covered courts, both located within the Ateneo de Manila University campus at Loyola Heights, Quezon City.  read more »

KC Foundation’s scholarship qualifying exam slated February

MANILA, January 13, 2011—The Knights of Columbus Philippines Foundation Inc. scholarship qualifying exam will be held on Feb. 5, 2011 at the Knights of Columbus fraternal main office in Manila and service offices in Cabanatuan City, Cagayan de Oro City, Cebu City, Davao City, Iloilo City and Zamboanga City.

Qualified examinees are children of active Knights of Columbus members as well as active members of Columbian Squires.

They should be graduating high school students or high school graduates who have not entered college yet.  read more »

KC Foundation holds yuletide gathering at GK Village

MANILA, Dec. 14, 2010—The Knights of Columbus Philippines Foundation Inc. organized the first Christmas party of Bagong Pangarap Gawad Kalinga Village held at Tungkong Mangga, San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan last Dec. 12, 2010.

Dubbed as “Yuletide Gathering at KC GK Village,” the occasion was a get-together of the residents to share the spirit of the season and to boost Christian fellowship.

Msgr. Pedro Quitorio, Chaplain of the Knights of Columbus Fraternal Association, Inc. (KCFAPI) presided over the Eucharistic Celebration.  read more »

Another KC foundation scholar ordained priest

MANILA, September 29, 2010—Another scholar of the Knights of Columbus Foundation has been ordained priest.

Fr. Jupe Lao Garalde was ordained at the Holy Infant Jesus Parish in Matnog, Sorsogon yesterday.

Sorsogon Bishop Arturo Bastes presided over the Solemn Eucharistic Celebration and the ordination rite with the clergy of Sorsogon.

Born on July 2, 1982, Fr. Jupe is the third and youngest son of Ramon Garalde, a retired police officer and Juanita Lao, a retired public school teacher.

It was in 1994 when Fr. Jupe finished his primary course at Matnog Central School.  read more »

KC Foundation scholar ordained as priest

MANILA, September 24, 2010—A scholar of the Knights of Columbus-Fr. George J. Willmann Charities, Inc. was ordained to the Sacred Order of Priesthood last September 20, 2010.

Fr. Paterno Trapa Dalumpines was ordained as priest at the San Isidro Labrador Parish in Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The ordination was presided by Pagadian Bishop Emmanuel T. Cabajar.

Fr. Pat was born on August 22, 1974 to Silvano Dalumpines and Margarita Trapa of Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur.  read more »

Bishop Tobias ordains KC scholar

MANILA, August 26, 2010—Novaliches Bishop Antonio Tobias has ordained Jose Eliseo B. Buenviaje a deacon at the Good Shepherd Cathedral in Fairview, Quezon City last August 19, 2010.

Buenviaje is one of the seminarian-scholars of KC Fr. George J. Willmann Charities, Inc., which sponsors seminarians who are on the last four years of their priestly formation.  read more »

CBCP President to preside over Fr. Willmann’s death anniversary

MANILA, August 19, 2010—The president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) and Tandag Bishop Nereo Odchimar will preside over the Eucharistic celebration that will be offered to mark the 33rd death anniversary of Fr. George J. Willmann, SJ.

With the KC priests and chaplains concelebrating, the Eucharistic celebration will be held at the San Agustin Church in Intramuros, Manila, at 7AM on September 14, 2010.  read more »

KC foundation scholar to be ordained deacon

MANILA, August 18, 2010—A KC scholar of the Fr. George Willmann Charities, Inc will be ordained as deacon tomorrow.

Jose Eliseo B. Buenviaje will be ordained as a deacon at the Good Shepherd Cathedral in Fairview, 9am, on August 19, 2010.

He attained his philosophy at the Christ the King Mission Seminary on 2006 and he took up his theology studies at Maryhill School of Theology in Quezon City under the scholarship program of the Fr. George J. Willmann Charities, Inc.  read more »
