Knights of Columbus in the Philippines Commemorates the 34th Death Anniversary of Fr. George J. Willmann, SJ

On September 14, 2011, the Knights of Columbus in the Philippines will commemorate the 34th Death Anniversary of Rev. Fr. George J. Willmann, S.J.

It will be highlighted by a Family TV Mass at the San Agustin Church at 9:00 in the morning with Most Rev. Jesse E. Mercado, D.D., Bishop of Parañaque as the Main Celebrant to be assisted by KC Priest-scholars and the Augustinian Priests. The Mass will be aired on September 25, 2011 at IBC Channel 13 from 9:00 to 10:00AM. Immediately after the Mass, a wreath-laying ceremony will be held at the statue of Fr. Willmann located at the Knights of Columbus Fraternal Association of the Philippines, Inc. (KCFAPI) head office in Intramuros, Manila.  read more »

Country’s youngest bishop is KC Priest-scholar

MANILA, Sept. 1, 2011―The newly-appointed Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia, Most Rev. David William V. Antonio, is currently the youngest Bishop in the country.

Bishop Antonio was ordained priest on December 1, 1988. He was a scholar of the Knights of Columbus Fr. George J. Willmann Charities, Inc. until the completion of his Theology studies.  read more »

KC Foundation scholars pass the 2011 Nursing Board Examination

Five foundation scholars recently passed the 2011 Nursing Board Examination given last July 2-3, 2011. They are Catherine Joy B. Cadut of KC Council 12550 (Iligan City), Grazele Joy C. Deocampo of KC Council 12324 (Panitan, Capiz), John Paul C. Descallar of KC Council 12550 (Iligan City), Mary Gwendolyn S. Jimeno of KC Council 12732 (Dumanjug, Cebu) and John Erik M. Sanoria of KC Council 8753 (Novaliches, Quezon City).  read more »

Fr. Willmann Charities hosts Family TV Mass for Fr. Willmann's death anniv

MANILA, July 28, 2011―The Fr. Willmann Charities, Inc., a social responsibility arm of the Knights of the Columbus Fraternal Association of the Philippines is hosting a Family TV Mass in commemoration of the 34th Death anniversary of Rev. Fr. George Joseph Willmann, SJ.

A Mass will be held at the San Agustin Church on September 14, 2011, at 9 am. The Eucharistic celebration will be videotaped to be shown on September 25, at IBC 13 from 9:00 to 10:00am.  read more »

KC Foundation scholar ordained deacon

MANILA, June 14, 2011― A scholar of the Knights of Columbus Fr. George Willmann Charities, Inc. was ordained to the diaconate on June 9, 2011 by Surigao Bishop Antonieto D. Cabajog at the San Nicholas de Tolentino Cathedral in Surigao City.

Jaime S. Ucab, Jr., was a KC Foundation scholar from the second semester of his Spiritual-Pastoral Formation Year last 2003-2004 until AY 2009-2010 through the recommendation of Bishop Cabajog.  read more »

KC Foundation scholar ordained priest

MANILA, June 13, 2011―Another scholar of the Knights of Columbus Fr. George Willmann Charities, Inc., Rodolfo D. Arias, Jr. of Diocese of Boac, was ordained to the Sacred Order of priesthood last June 7, 2011.

Boac Bishop Reynaldo G. Evangelista led the ordination rites at Holy Cross Parish in Sta. Cruz, Marinduque.

Arias, a native of Buyabod, Sta. Cruz, Marinduque was born on Aug. 8, 1980 to Rodolfo Arias, Sr. and Rosalinda Deligero, a secondary school teacher.  read more »

42 KC Family members qualify for academic excellence award

MANILA, June 1, 2011― At least forty-two Knights of Columbus’ members, spouses and children from across the country have qualified for the Fr. George J. Willmann, SJ Award for Academic Excellence, a program of the Knights of Columbus Fraternal Association of the Philippines, Inc. (KCFAPI) which runs from July 1, 2010 to June 30 this year.

Fifty-five percent (55%) of those qualified hailed from Luzon while 26% and 19% are from Visayas and Mindanao respectively.  read more »

KC Foundation scholar graduated with honors

MANILA, May 13, 2011—Ms. Sonia Richelle B. Magdaraog, a scholar of KC Philippines Foundation Inc. (KCPFI), recently graduated Cum Laude with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Catanduanes State Colleges, in Virac, Catanduanes.

She is one of the sixteen KCPFI scholars who graduated last March/April 2011 from various colleges/universities around the country.

Ms. Magdaraog is the daughter of Bro. Rey and Sis. Evelyn Magdaraog of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 4266 in Virac, Catanduanes.  read more »

K of C Foundation Inc. spearheads backyard farming

MANILA, April 11, 2011—The Knights of Columbus Philippines Foundation, Inc. (KCPFI), a corporate social responsibility arm of KC Fraternal Association of the Philippines, Inc. (KCFAPI), spearheaded a livelihood project on “Backyard Farming focused on Organic Vegetable Production”.

The incipient project started with a hands-on seminar on containerized vegetable gardening otherwise called urban gardening given by the Bureau of Plants and Industry at the KC Fr. George J. Willmann Center in Intramuros, Manila last April 5, 2011.  read more »

Willmann Charities donates to nationwide seminarians’ gathering

MANILA, January 31, 2011—The Knights of Columbus Fr. George J. Willmann Charities, Inc. recently donated ten thousand pesos (P10,000.00) to the SemNet Kapatiran, an annual gathering of the diocesan Seminarian’s Network of the Philippines, Inc. (SemNet Phils.) scheduled this February 5, 2011 at San Jose Seminary and Ateneo de Manila High School covered courts, both located within the Ateneo de Manila University campus at Loyola Heights, Quezon City.  read more »
