CBCP President to preside over Fr. Willmann’s death anniversary

MANILA, August 19, 2010—The president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) and Tandag Bishop Nereo Odchimar will preside over the Eucharistic celebration that will be offered to mark the 33rd death anniversary of Fr. George J. Willmann, SJ.

With the KC priests and chaplains concelebrating, the Eucharistic celebration will be held at the San Agustin Church in Intramuros, Manila, at 7AM on September 14, 2010.  read more »

KC foundation scholar to be ordained deacon

MANILA, August 18, 2010—A KC scholar of the Fr. George Willmann Charities, Inc will be ordained as deacon tomorrow.

Jose Eliseo B. Buenviaje will be ordained as a deacon at the Good Shepherd Cathedral in Fairview, 9am, on August 19, 2010.

He attained his philosophy at the Christ the King Mission Seminary on 2006 and he took up his theology studies at Maryhill School of Theology in Quezon City under the scholarship program of the Fr. George J. Willmann Charities, Inc.  read more »

Another KC priest ordained

MANILA, February 24, 2010—A scholar of the Fr. George J. Willmann Charities, Inc., was recently ordained a priest.

Fr. Richell Pamine Fuentes was ordained priest by Tagum Bishop Wilfredo D. Manlapaz last February 12, 2010 at the Christ the King Cathedral in Tagum City. He is the 138th KC priest.

He took up his theological studies at the St. Francis Xavier Regional Major Seminary of Mindanao in Davao City.

Fuentes took a two-year “regency” in order to teach and serve the Media Apostolate of the Diocese of Tagum in 2005.  read more »

KC Foundation conducts scholarship qualifying examination

MANILA, February 11, 2010—The Knights of Columbus Philippine Foundation, Inc., has facilitated a scholarship qualifying examination last February 6, 2010.

This examination was simultaneously held at the Knights of Columbus main office in Intramuros, Manila and at the KC Fraternal Service Offices in Cabanatuan, Cebu, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Davao and Zamboanga City.

According to Denise Solina of the KC Philippines Foundation, a special testing center in Baguio City was also established to accommodate the applicants coming from the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).  read more »

KC Foundation scholar passes Nursing Exam

MANILA, February 4, 2010—A scholar of the Knight of Columbus Philippines Foundation, Inc. has recently passed the Nursing Board Examination.

Graduated last 2009, Jean Mikhail S. Laurel earned a degree in Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the Davao Doctors College.

He is one of the beneficiaries of the Supreme Council Scholarship Program, which is being managed by the KC Philippines Foundation, Inc.  read more »

KC scholar passes Electronics engineering board exams

MANILA, January 5, 2010 ─ A KC Philippines Foundation scholar has made it in the Board Examination for Electronics Engineering.

Edison Ugale, Jr. is now a licensed Electronics Engineer with extensive experience in telephone transmission line engineering and digital subscriber line, commendable skills in Main Distribution Frame (MDF) connection, PMA/ICMS updating and outside plant facilities.

He graduated with academic distinction at the University of Saint Louis in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan Valley in 2009.  read more »

KC Foundation scholar passes CPA board

MANILA, November 24, 2009—A scholar of the Knights of Columbus Philippines Foundation, Inc has recently passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Board Examination.

In the result released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) last October, Rachelle G. Valdez has made it to the list of the new CPA.

Graduated last 2008, Valdez studied Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at the Polytechnic University in the Philippines (PUP) in Sta. Mesa, Manila.  read more »

GK villagers celebrate new chapel

MANILA, Nov. 10, 2009-- Prayers and gritty perseverance have paid off for church-goers in a remote village in Bulacan province, who now have a new place for worship.

It took around four months; but the Catholic residents of Gawad Kalinga Village, Tungkong Manga in San Jose Del Monte town are celebrating the completion of Fr. George J. Willman chapel.

Fr. Willman is the founder of the Knights of Columbus (KC), a fraternal association of Catholic men, in the Philippines.  read more »

KC Philippines Foundation, Gawad Kalinga lead blessing of Fr. Willmann chapel

MANILA, November 3, 2009—The Knight of Columbus Philippine Foundation and Gawad Kalinga Foundation spearheaded the recent blessing of the Fr. George J. Willmann, SJ Chapel.

Inaugurated last October 21, 2009, the activity was held at the Gawad Kalinga Housing Project in Tungkong Mangga, San Jose del Monte in Bulacan.

The chapel was named in honor to the Father of the Knights of Columbus Philippines, Fr. George J. Willmann, SJ., and was dedicated to the Our Lady of Perpetual Help.  read more »

Fr. George J. Willmann website launched

MANILA, October 22, 2009—The Fr. George J. Willmann, SJ website was launched today at the Knights of Columbus main office in Intramuros, Manila.

The website is a project of the Committee of Mass Media of the Fr. George J. Willmann Charities, Inc., headed by Msgr. Pedro Quitorio.

According to Quitorio, who is also the Spiritual Director of the Knights of Columbus Fraternal Association of the Philippines (KCFAPI), the website is intended to raise awareness on the cause of Fr. George J. Willmann.  read more »
