KC Foundation scholar passes Nursing Exam

MANILA, February 4, 2010—A scholar of the Knight of Columbus Philippines Foundation, Inc. has recently passed the Nursing Board Examination.

Graduated last 2009, Jean Mikhail S. Laurel earned a degree in Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the Davao Doctors College.

He is one of the beneficiaries of the Supreme Council Scholarship Program, which is being managed by the KC Philippines Foundation, Inc.  read more »

KC scholar passes Electronics engineering board exams

MANILA, January 5, 2010 ─ A KC Philippines Foundation scholar has made it in the Board Examination for Electronics Engineering.

Edison Ugale, Jr. is now a licensed Electronics Engineer with extensive experience in telephone transmission line engineering and digital subscriber line, commendable skills in Main Distribution Frame (MDF) connection, PMA/ICMS updating and outside plant facilities.

He graduated with academic distinction at the University of Saint Louis in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan Valley in 2009.  read more »

KC Foundation scholar passes CPA board

MANILA, November 24, 2009—A scholar of the Knights of Columbus Philippines Foundation, Inc has recently passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Board Examination.

In the result released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) last October, Rachelle G. Valdez has made it to the list of the new CPA.

Graduated last 2008, Valdez studied Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at the Polytechnic University in the Philippines (PUP) in Sta. Mesa, Manila.  read more »

GK villagers celebrate new chapel

MANILA, Nov. 10, 2009-- Prayers and gritty perseverance have paid off for church-goers in a remote village in Bulacan province, who now have a new place for worship.

It took around four months; but the Catholic residents of Gawad Kalinga Village, Tungkong Manga in San Jose Del Monte town are celebrating the completion of Fr. George J. Willman chapel.

Fr. Willman is the founder of the Knights of Columbus (KC), a fraternal association of Catholic men, in the Philippines.  read more »

KC Philippines Foundation, Gawad Kalinga lead blessing of Fr. Willmann chapel

MANILA, November 3, 2009—The Knight of Columbus Philippine Foundation and Gawad Kalinga Foundation spearheaded the recent blessing of the Fr. George J. Willmann, SJ Chapel.

Inaugurated last October 21, 2009, the activity was held at the Gawad Kalinga Housing Project in Tungkong Mangga, San Jose del Monte in Bulacan.

The chapel was named in honor to the Father of the Knights of Columbus Philippines, Fr. George J. Willmann, SJ., and was dedicated to the Our Lady of Perpetual Help.  read more »

Fr. George J. Willmann website launched

MANILA, October 22, 2009—The Fr. George J. Willmann, SJ website was launched today at the Knights of Columbus main office in Intramuros, Manila.

The website is a project of the Committee of Mass Media of the Fr. George J. Willmann Charities, Inc., headed by Msgr. Pedro Quitorio.

According to Quitorio, who is also the Spiritual Director of the Knights of Columbus Fraternal Association of the Philippines (KCFAPI), the website is intended to raise awareness on the cause of Fr. George J. Willmann.  read more »

First Father Willmann chapel to be blessed Wednesday

MANILA, October 19, 2009—The Fr. George J. Willmann, SJ Chapel, the first chapel named in his honor, will be inaugurated on October 21, 2009 at the Gawad Kalinga Housing Project in Tungkong Mangga, San Jose del Monte in Bulacan.

Dedicated to the Our Lady of Perpetual Help, the said inaugural rite will consist of the blessing of the altar and a Eucharistic celebration that will be presided by Msgr. Pedro C. Quitorio, Spiritual Director of the Knights of Columbus Fraternal Association of the Philippines (KCFAPI).  read more »

KC Willmann Charities hosts Family TV Mass

MANILA, September 22, 2009—To mark the 32nd death anniversary of its founder, the Knights of Columbus Fr. George J. Willmann Charities, Inc. has hosted a Family TV Mass last September 14, 2009 at the San Agustin Church in Intramuros, Manila.

Aired September 20 over TV Channel 4, the mass was presided by Parañaque Bishop Jesse Mercado and concelebrated by Msgr. Joselito C. Asis; Fr. William D. Araña, OSA; Fr. Benjamin Deogracias M. Fajota; Fr. Rene M. Sapungan; Fr. Milan Ted D. Torralba; Fr. Enrico Emmanuel A. Ayo; and Fr. Isabelo R. San Luis.  read more »

Willmann Charities to air TV mass at anniversary of founder

MANILA, August 28, 2009—The Knights of Columbus Fr. George J. Willmann Charities, Inc will be hosting a Family TV Mass which will be celebrated on September 14, 2009, 9 a.m., at the San Agustin Church in Intramuros, Manila.

This Eucharistic Celebration will be held in commemoration of the 32nd Death Anniversary of Rev. Fr. George J. Willmann, S.J., who is the Father of the Knights of Columbus in the Philippines.

Fr. George J. Willmann Charities then called on the councils to “co-sponsor” the fraternal TV mass through their donations.  read more »

New KC Priest-scholars all set for Rome

MANILA, August 20, 2009p—The two new Priest-scholars of the Knights of Columbus Fr. George J. Willmann Charities Inc. will leave for Rome August 25, 2009.

Rev. Fr. Jeffrey D. Habado of the Diocese of Baguio who is also the Assistant Chaplain of KC Council 12568 in La Trinidad, Benguet and Rev. Fr. Reynaldo B. Mission of the Diocese of Marbel and Council Chaplain of the KC Council 4576 Koronadal City were chosen by the Scholarship Committee of the Fr. George J. Willmann Charities from a number of applicants.  read more »
