KC Philippine Foundation calls its scholars for a get-together

MANILA, August 18, 2009—The Knights of Columbus (KC) Philippine Foundation, Inc. is organizing a gathering of its collegiate scholars sometime next year.

As posted in its website, the KC Philippines Foundation is requesting all those who have graduated from the scholarship to contact the office to get more details about the gathering.

Presently, the Foundation is also updating the databank of its collegiate scholars especially their current addresses and pertinent professional data.  read more »

KC Foundation scholars pass Nursing Licensure Exam

MANILA, August 15, 2009—The scholars of the KC Philippine Foundation, Inc. were among those who recently passed the 2009 Nursing Licensure Examination.

Scholars who passed the said exam are Michelle O. Alferez from the Rev. Fr. Urbano L. Kintanar Council 3940 in Naga, Cebu; Merjean G. Maiso of the Rev. Fr. Bonifacio Garcia Council 10487 in Claveria, Misamis Oriental; Ellien Grace E. Macanas from the Sta. Lucia Council 9366 Sta. Lucia, Novaliches and Christian Janus C. Simon of the Ilagan Council 3705 in Ilagan, Isabela.  read more »

On the commemoration of the 32nd death anniversary of Fr. Willmann, Fr. Willmann Charities will sponsor a TV Mass at the San Agustin Church, Intramuros, Manila on September 14, 2009 at 9 o'clock in the morning.

Groundbreaking of Fr. Willmann Chapel held

MANILA, July 7, 2009—A groundbreaking ceremony was held at the site of the first Fr. Willmann Chapel at the Bagong Pangarap Gawad Kalinga (GK), Tungkong Mangga, San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan, June 27, 2009.

Dedicated to Our Lady of Perpetual Help, the rite of blessing was led by Msgr. Pedro Quitorio, KCFAPI Chaplain.

The officials of the Knights of Columbus Philippines Foundation led by Chairman Justice Jose C. Reyes, Jr. and President Alonso L. Tan honored the event with their presence.  read more »

Foundation scholar receives merit for academic excellence

DAVAO CITY, June 25, 2009—A scholar of the Knights of Columbus (KC) Philippines Foundation, Inc. was recently given a distinction for academic excellence.

Adrian Jay Barcelona was one of the awardees for an academic honor given to those who attain high general average grade for two consecutive school years.

Barcelona is a third year Bachelor of Science Food Technology student of the Philippine Women’s College of Davao.

He is the son of Danilo Barcelona, an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council 12506 in Polomolok, South Cotabato.  read more »

KC Foundation Scholar receives award

MANILA, June 22, 2009—One of the scholars of the Knights of Columbus (KC)Philippine Foundation recently garnered an award.

Jose Gabriel Mallari from Bagong Bantay, Quezon City earned the Best Debater award being the winner of the FACE OFF: “Class of Wits” Debate Tournament.

Mallari’s team also received a certificate as First Place champion on the same competition.  read more »

KC Philippines Foundation renews partnership with Gawad Kalinga

KC PHILIPPINES Foundation, Inc. teamed up again with Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation, Inc. for the construction of seven houses and a provisional chapel at Bagong Pangarap, GK Site Tungkong Mangga, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.

Last year, the Foundation also sponsored 10 houses at the same site which was later turned over upon its completion to ten beneficiary-families from Pangarap Village in Kalookan City.

The Foundation is inviting everyone to participate and help build the houses and chapel for our less-fortunate brothers.  read more »

KC Scholar passes FSO examination

RIA E. Gorospe, a former scholar of the KC Philippines Foundation has recently passed the Department of Foreign Affairs – Foreign Service Officer Examination (FSO).

Gorospe got her appointment from President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as an FSO IV and DFA Secretary Alberto G. Romulo administered her Oath.  read more »

KC Foundation Scholar bags Foreign Service Officer rank

MANILA, May 29, 2009─ A scholar of the Knights of Columbus (KC) Philippine Foundation has recently bagged the Foreign Service Officer (FSO) rank at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo appointed Ria Eugenio Gorospe as an FSO IV on March 2009. Gorospe had her oath-taking last April.

She has then started her cadetship course under the Foreign Service Institute this May to prepare for her position.

Prior the appointment, Gorospe has been a desk assistant at the Office of European Affairs of the DFA.  read more »

KC scholar graduates with honors

MANILA, May 19, 2009—One of the seminarian-scholars of the Knights of Columbus (KC) Fr. George Willman Charities, Inc., recently graduated with honors.

Joseph Basilla Longasa of the Diocese of Legaspi graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelors degree in Sacred Theology at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Central Seminary in España, Manila.

Longasa also completed his undergraduate studies with flying colors.

He finished his Philosophical studies Cum Laude at the Mater Salutis College Seminary in Daraga, Albay.  read more »
