KC Foundation Scholar bags Foreign Service Officer rank

MANILA, May 29, 2009─ A scholar of the Knights of Columbus (KC) Philippine Foundation has recently bagged the Foreign Service Officer (FSO) rank at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo appointed Ria Eugenio Gorospe as an FSO IV on March 2009. Gorospe had her oath-taking last April.

She has then started her cadetship course under the Foreign Service Institute this May to prepare for her position.

Prior the appointment, Gorospe has been a desk assistant at the Office of European Affairs of the DFA.  read more »

KC scholar graduates with honors

MANILA, May 19, 2009—One of the seminarian-scholars of the Knights of Columbus (KC) Fr. George Willman Charities, Inc., recently graduated with honors.

Joseph Basilla Longasa of the Diocese of Legaspi graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelors degree in Sacred Theology at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Central Seminary in España, Manila.

Longasa also completed his undergraduate studies with flying colors.

He finished his Philosophical studies Cum Laude at the Mater Salutis College Seminary in Daraga, Albay.  read more »

KC announces new scholars

MANILA, May 18, 2009—The Knights of Columbus (KC) Fr. George Willmann Charities, Inc. recently announced its new religious scholars for the School year 2009-2010.

Seminarians who are on their last course in theology; priests who desire to secure licentiate or doctorate degrees in ecclesiastical disciplines in local theology schools or seminaries; and priests who wish to earn licentiate or doctorate degrees in ecclesiastical disciplines in Rome are the categories of scholarships of the Knights of Columbus.  read more »

KCFAPI donates P1 million to KC Philippines Foundation

KC FRATERNAL Association of the Philippines has announced recently its donation of an additional One Million Pesos to the KC Philippines Foundation, Inc. for the construction of seven houses and a Chapel in Bagong Pangarap Gawad Kalinga (GK) Site at Tungkong Mangga, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.

Last October 2008, the Foundation turned over to selected beneficiaries ten houses at the same GK Site. The ten beneficiary-families came from Pangarap Village in Caloocan City who were screened and selected by the Gawad Kalinga Community Foundation, Inc.  read more »
